Advantages of Apple Authorized vs. Apple Stores and Third-Party Repair Shops

Apple Authorized Service Provider - iPhone, MacBook, iMac, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch Repairs. Certified Preowned Apple Devices For Sale

iPhone repair stores are on every corner, with most boasting low prices, and while they may be able to sell you an Apple product or fix your issue, there are so many other considerations— ones that could be very costly! Working with an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) has many benefits. But what exactly is an AASP?

An Apple Authorized Service Provider is a business that provides repair services for Apple products. These businesses, like The Orchard, make Apple-certified repairs and only use genuine Apple parts. Not only do AASPs have access to genuine Apple parts and technical support, but they're also trained to use the latest diagnostic tools and software to ensure your repairs are done correctly the first time. This means having peace of mind that your investment is in good hands.

So what do you have to lose when working with non-authorized service providers? In short, a lot! Third-party components are not always genuine Apple parts, don’t always work, and could actually damage your product. Issues with drastically shortened battery life, unresponsive screens, and display errors are just a few very common problems we hear about. On top of that, repairs from an unauthorized service provider will invalidate your warranty, and you may be trading old problems for new ones, resulting in the need for a new product altogether.

We always recommend buying your Apple products directly from an AASP and continuing to utilize them for all repairs. But the question is, why don’t we only recommend a genuine Apple store for these services? Well, there are a few reasons why we should:

 Convenience:

It's simple— Apple stores aren’t in every city. If you’re in a location that does not have an Apple store within a reasonable distance, it’s a good idea to find an AASP near you.

Supporting Local/Small Business: There are tons of Apple Authorized Service Providers that are owned by local people and operate as small businesses. Supporting local and/or small businesses is very important to many people— especially after Covid when the nation saw small businesses take a huge hit. When doing business at your local AASP, you’re getting the quality and guarantee of Apple, while still supporting people in your community.

Speed:

Sometimes your repair is time sensitive, and the product you’re using may be crucial to your daily workflow. When bringing your Apple product to an Apple Authorized Service Provider near you, you’re not only cutting down on the time it would take for you to commute to a genuine Apple store in another area, but you’re bringing it to a repair center that likely has the replacement parts in stock and the certified technicians on hand (unlike non-authorized providers).

Apple Authorized Service Providers are about as close as it gets to a genuine Apple store, without the time investment and hassle of travel, and with the benefit of supporting members of your community.

If you’re in the market for a new Apple product or need repairs to existing products, we’d love for you to make an appointment with The Orchard or call one of our technicians. Appointments aren’t necessary as we are more than happy to take any walk-ins any time of the day during our business hours.
